2 arrested after pursuit in Stockton ended in Lodi crash, officials say
FORECAST IN A FEW MINUTES. HEATHER THANK YOU. TWO PEOPLE ARE UNDER ARREST AFTER A HIGH-SPEED CHASE THAT STRETCHED ACROSS. TWO CITIES. THAT’S CHASE STARTED IN STOCKTON AND ENDED IN A LODI NEIGHBORHOOD. BOTH SUSPECTS ARE NOW IN CUSTODY. AFTER THAT HIGH-SPEED CHASE WITH POLICE. THIS MORNING, KCRA 3’S ANAHITA JAFARI TELLS US WHAT. HAPPENED. A STOLEN WHITE VAN COVERED IN DENSE LEFT TIRE MARKS AND A WAKE OF DAMAGE IN A NEIGHBORHOOD ON THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF LODI WEDNESDAY MORNING. WELL, I JUST SEEN THE VEHICLE COMING VERY FAST. VAN, COME AROUND THE CORNER, LOSE CONTROL, AND THE GIRL JUST DROPPED SOMETHING THERE. THEY JUMPED OUT, RAN, AND THEN JUMPED FENCES AND JUMPED THE FENCE AND PUSHED CRAZY. THEY WERE GONE. PARTS OF THE VAN LIKE THIS PIECE ARE SEEN SCATTERED. ALL ALONG THE ROAD. AND POLICE SAY DURING THE PURSUIT, THE VAN ACTUALLY BROKE THROUGH MULTIPLE FENCES. ONE WITNESS SAYS IT WAS THIS GATE THAT THAT VAN ALSO BROKE THROUGH. NEIGHBORS SAY THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. I KNEW THEY WERE RUNNING FROM THE COPS BECAUSE I COULD HEAR THE SIRENS. DOZENS OF POLICE CARS FLOODED THE AREA, SEARCHING DOOR TO DOOR FOR THE SUSPECTS WHO RAN FROM THE VAN AFTER ABANDONING IT IN THE STREET TO JUST KEEP THE DOORS CLOSED, THE WINDOWS CLOSED, AND NOT GO OUT. AND IF I WAS SAFE WITH MY TWO KIDS, THEY DID. CAME AND ASKED IF I WAS SAFE WITH MY TWO KIDS. ONE OF THE SUSPECTS, THE DRIVER, WAS APPREHENDED SHORTLY AFTER BY A K-9. HOURS LATER, THE PASSENGER OF THE CAR WAS ALSO FOUND AND ARRESTED IN LODI. I’M ANAHITA JAFARI, KCRA THREE NEWS.
